Dairyland Racetrack closes, greyhounds need homes

The original post about Dairyland Greyhound Park closing has been taken down from this blog. Although the track is closing at the end of the year, the greyhounds that race and reside at the track will not be euthanized as had been previously reported.

We were victims to a hoax
Apparently this blog, along with some others, fell victim to a hoax. When the track closes, many greyhounds will be available for adoption, but their lives will not be in danger.

According to an article in Kenosha News,“Roughly 850 to 900 greyhounds reside in Dairyland’s 12 kennels. About 25 to 30 percent of them — the top racers — will move on to other tracks, while the rest will be 'petted out' to adoption agencies . . .”

You can help the greyhounds
