Upcoming Events in the South Loop

2nd WARD BIKE TOUR

Saturday, July 10, 2010

Ald. Fioretti's office will lead bike riders on a 10-mile scenic tour throughout the 2nd Ward. This is a free bike ride and will explore some of the ward's historic neighborhoods, natural beauty and fascinating architecture.

The ride will launch from Dunbar Park, 300 E. 31st Street on July 10th. Registration begins at 7:30 am and we will take off by 8:30.

4th ANNUAL CONCERT IN THE PARK

4th Annual Concert in the Park at the Women's Park & Garden behind the Clarke House Museum on July 13th. VanderCook College of Music graduate students play a variety of concert band classics the whole family can enjoy. Families bring their picnics, we hand out balloons and popcorn-it's a real community, family friendly event.

The South Loop Dog Park Action Cooperative (SLDogPAC) is holding a membership drive and social event on Thursday, July 15th, from 6-9 PM at Kroll's South Loop, 1736 S. Michigan Avenue. Food and beverages will be served.

Please join us for our bi-monthly forum style meeting at the 1st District Police Station at 9 am. More details will be available on our calendar and an event reminder will be sent to you prior to the event.

Our tentative agenda includes:
  • A review of the South Loop Parking Study led by a representative from CDOT  
  • Area development update
  • Bash on Wabash volunteer and event information
  • Join our "Community Living Association Committee". We plan to gather condominium board representatives to plan networking events, share resources, and launch our first "Condo Building Fair". 
  • An update from the Alliance for a Greener South Loop and information on the 2nd annual "Green, Greener, Greenest Awards"
