Columbia College's Media Production Center at the intersection of 16th St. and S. State St. boasts a state-of-the-art film production facility. The 35,000 square foot production center was designed by Jeanne Gang of Studio Gang Architects at a cost of $25,000,000.

Joe Leamanczyk gives a tour of the Media Production Center

I recently took a tour of the facility led by Joe Leamanczyk from Columbia College. The tour was part of the Green Summit, sponsored by the Alliance for a Greener South Loop held on Saturday, April 30, 2011. The Media Production Center was built to LEED specifications that include, 50-percent green roof, radiant heating and cooling in soundstages, and indoor lighting fixtures that progressively illuminate as natural outdoor light decreases.
