Kenya’s Moses Mosop Sets Marathon Record

Sore Achilles No Problem Today
Moses Mosop set a new record today at the 2011 Chicago Marathon. The Kenyan ran the race in 2:05:37. For winning the race, Mosop gets $100,000 and a bonus of $50,000 for breaking the course record. The old record was set by the late Sammy Wanjiru whose time was 2:05:41. Mosop told reporters that he had a sore achilles tendon before the race. The sore achilles did not appear to be a problem this Sunday.
