South Loop's Donna's Cafe in the news

Donna Adams holds a copy of the most recent Chicago Journal pictured here with staff.
Donna's Cafe, was featured in this week's Chicago Journal. Located at 1255 S. State St., the cafe is the dream of Donna Adams, a retired Chicago police officer and her business partner Bob Oliver. Here at South Loop Connection we've followed Donna's Cafe on its journey from idea to reality.

Also featured in the article was Overflow Coffee Bar opening soon at Daystar Center at 1550 S. State St. If all goes according to plan, they should open on March 21, 2011.

  1. Stephen, great news - we passed our health inspection on Friday! We'll be getting our business license and then "soft" opening sometime this week. We're now planning a grand opening for April 1. We believe no one should fool around with bad coffee or espresso. We're serious about changing the world one (tasty) cup at a time. :)

  3. I was really excited about Donna's Cafe since it's so close to me, but I've heard not great things about their customer service (rolling their eyes when a customer asks for decaf and acting put out that they then have to make a pot of coffee for them, etc.) so I don't know that they will be getting my business. You'd think a new business would want to serve their customers, but I guess that's not the way they roll.

  4. Lucy, have you been there yourself? I've found the opposite to be true.
