Meet Photographer Thomas Campone

You may not know Thomas Campone, but you may know his photography. He took a picture during a thunder and lightning storm in the South Loop recently that made NBC news. Posted to popular photo-sharing site flickr, it gained additional visibility.

Power and movement
Did you see this image on NBC News?
Campone is an insurance underwriter by day and a photographer, whenever he gets the chance. Most of his photography subjects are Chicago cityscapes, although he does commercial and portrait work as well. Campone is a Florida native, but has lived in Chicago for 12 years. For the last eight, he’s been in the South Loop. Campone loves Chicago. “I love the energy level here,” he says. Energy is the perfect way to describe Campone’s cityscape photography. Although his images of the city are still doesn’t mean they’re frozen. There’s power and movement to many of his Chicago images.

Loves Chicago architecture
Campone loves architecture, Chicago architecture in particular, which is evident through his photography subjects. You can see some of his photography on display and for sale at Urban-Remix, 1468 S. Michigan Ave. Campone’s photography is available for purchase through his Web site.
