This event isn't in the South Loop, but if you love the galleries in River North, this looks like a fun evening benefiting a good cause. Open Books will be turning their bookstore into an art gallery featuring the talents of two local artists on Friday April 15, 2011 at 5 p.m..
Open Books is a nonprofit bookstore that raises funds to promote literacy in Chicago. They provide literacy services to more than 3,000 students each year. Proceeds from this event will help support the organization's literacy programs.

I'm thrilled to see this post on South Loop Connection! Open Books is a fabulous organization, and their bookstore is wonderful. The Open Gallery event promises to be a great night, and I hope to see many South Loopers there! Thanks for spreading the word about this fun event!
