The 2009 Magnificent Mile Light Festival is this Saturday, November 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Musical performers will be at the Harris Stage, Pioneer Court, 401 N. Michigan Ave.
As usual, Mickey Mouse will serve as the grand marshal for the 18th annual holiday event. This year Ashley Greene of the movie
Twilight will be on hand as will The Plain White T's, Banana Schpeel, and the Chicago Salsa Mambo Orchestra. For the first time this year, Michigan Ave. will be host to "a variety of heart-pumping marching bands."
Be prepared for large crowds (and baby strollers galore) anywhere on or around Michigan Ave. during the festival.

Nordstrom Rack is coming to Michigan Ave. this fall. The new store will be housed in the former CompUSA location on East Chicago Ave., between Michigan Ave. and Rush St.
This will be the second downtown location for Nordstrom Rack and their seventh in the overall Chicagoland area. Nordstom Rack is know for selling merchandise from their flagship department stores at steep discounts. The new location will have 36,000 square feet of selling space.
