Sunday at the 2010 Bash on Wabash: See You Next Year!

The 2010 Bash on Wabash, the South Loop's premier outdoor event, ended Sunday at 10 p.m. It was a full day packed with food, music, games, and vendors selling jewelry and apparel. There were also several nonprofits promoting their organizations. Check out the photos and videos below to experience some of the fun.

Folks came out to listen to Sunday-night-headliner Cracker, whose latest album Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey is available at most retail outlets. I followed the crowd and listened to the finale. Check out the video below for a listen.

After Cracker played their last song, the crowd slowly dispersed. At 10 p.m., the 2010 Bash was officially over. Check out the video below to see how it all ended.



Now that the Bash is over, it starts all over again. See you at the Bash on Wabash in 2011.

Sights and Sounds from Saturday's 2010 Bash on Wabash

The 2010 Bash on Wabash got off to a great start in spite of early-afternoon winds. The fall-like day didn't cool the spirit of those attending the Bash. Good food, friends, and music kept the crowds coming. Check out some  of the sites and sounds from yesterday and don't forget to come to the Bash today, starting at 11 a.m.

Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press brought some Christmas cheer to the Labor Day weekend crowd.



What's a festival without carnival games? Come down today and test your skill and luck.



Cover band 16 Candles brought down the house with "Jump" as the Saturday night headliner. Come today to see more great bands including Cracker.

Bash on Wabash Volunteer Kickoff

The Greater South Loop Association (GSLA) August social event was held at the Whole Foods Market, 1101 S. Canal St. The event also  marked the volunteer kickoff for the annual Bash on Wabash. The Bash on Wabash is the South Loop's premier summer festival.



Food and wine was provided by new GSLA business members Whole Foods and Showcase Icon Lobby Lounge. Twenty-five dollar gift cards to Showcase Icon Lobby Lounge were distributed to those in attendance.

Volunteers were encouraged to pick up posters and postcards to promote the Bash. At this year's Bash, there will be two music stages featuring popular bands like Sixteen Candles and Sunday headliner, Cracker.

This year's Bash on Wabash ( September 4-5), the South Loop's premier neighborhood festival, promises to be better than ever. Want to volunteer? The 2010 Bash is featuring two music stages. On Saturday night, 80s cover band 16 Candles will headline. On Sunday night, Cracker will be at the top of the bill.
