Massage Envy opens in the South Loop

Massage Envy Spa, 1136 S. Delano Court, located in the The Shops at Roosevelt Collection, is open. The upscale spa had its grand opening party last night. Guests had the chance to tour the facility, get a complimentary mini massage, and facial skin evaluation.

What Do You Love Best About Trader Joe’s?

Grand Opening This Friday
Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last 12 months, you’re probably pretty excited about Trader Joe’s finally opening in the South Loop. For years, rumors were rife about a store opening here. This Friday is the grand opening and we’re wondering what you’re most excited about. Like Oprah, we have our “favorite things” about Trader Joe’s. They are listed below in no particular order.

• Maple syrup—hard to beat the price for pure maple syrup
• Olive oil—again, hard to beat their price on this item, which is often on sale for under $5 a quart!
• Coffee—Joe is a great medium roast, reasonably priced
• Peanut butter—TJ’s creamy salted peanut butter is cheaper than the cheapest store brand from any grocery chain; it’s also the best, in our opinion
• Balsamic vinegar—in the one quart jug is another bargain item that is often on sale and under $4.

Donna's Cafe Grand Opening Saturday, April 23, 2011

Donna's Cafe at at 1255 S. State St. has been open since January, but their grand opening celebration is set for this Saturday with a ribbon cutting at noon. Grand opening events will be taking place all day until 5 p.m.

Overflow Coffee Bar Grand Opening Celebration Starts Friday April 1

Overflow Coffee Bar at 1550 S. State St. has been open for business since March 18, 2011, but their grand opening is scheduled for Friday, April 1. The doors will be open at 7 a.m. and staying open until 8 p.m. The first 300 customers will receive a free Overflow travel mug. When customers use the mug for a refill, they'll save $.30.

Overflow Coffee Bar is located in the Daystar Center at 1550 State St.

The grand opening celebration will also include live music. At 3 p.m. there will be classical and Spanish guitar performances. The festivities will continue on Saturday, April 2 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. DJ Toxxic spins tunes at 3 p.m. Overflow will be open until 5 p.m. on Saturday.
