Zap “Art” Tista

Chicago Art Exchange at 1530 S. State St. will be presenting Zap “Art” Tista, Friday, June 22, 2012 from 7 – 10 p.m.

The opening reception will feature guacamole and cerviche stations, wine, and “fine art.” Ticket prices for this event are $15 per person.

“An Elegant pairing of Art & Music” at Chicago Art Exchange




Chicago Art Exchange wants you to “experience a creative mix of live music and original art,” March 23, 2012. The event starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. Chicago Art Exchange is located at 1530 S. State St.

Singer-songwriter and painter, Nicholas Barron, will perform his original music, highlighted by a stunning backdrop of artwork created by Nicholas himself, as well as other artists featured in Chicago Art Exchange’s current gallery exhibition through April 27, 2012.

There is a $20 per person suggested donation for this event. Spanish Tapas and beverages provided by Tapas Valencia. Reservation are recommended. “Neighbors Night Out” at Chicago Art Exchange

The Greater South Loop Association’s “Neighbors Night Out”at Chicago Art Exchange tonight had a great turnout. Guests sipped wine, viewed art, and ate hors d’oeuvres, provided by Tapas Valencia.

Chicago Art Exchange is the newest gallery to open in the South Loop and is located at 1530 S. State St. The gallery space is fairly large and filled with an interesting mix of painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media.

The GSLA presents monthly “Neighbors Night Out” events at venues in the South Loop to promote local businesses and provide an opportunity for neighbors to meet and network. Tonight’s event was sponsored by Weichert Realtors Frankel and Giles, and Tapas Valencia

GSLA “Neighbors Night Out” This Thursday


The Greater South Loop Association will be presenting “Neighbors Night Out” at the newly opened Chicago Art Exchange gallery on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The gallery is located at 1530 S. State St.

This free event will include complimentary wine-tasting and hors d’oeuvres served by Tapas Valencia.

Valet parking is available for $6.

Chicago Art Exchange “Grand Opening Celebration” August 19 and 20, 2011, 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. This new art gallery located at 1530 S. The Scout Waterhouse + Kitchen’s official grand is August 19 and 20, 2011. You probably thought this new pub was already open, but today and tomorrow makes it official. The Scout is located at 1301 S. Wabash Ave.

Jazz at Donna’s CafĂ© August 19, 2011. Friday night jazz has become a regular weekly event at the local breakfast and lunch spot located at 1255 S. State St. No cover charge; five dollar minimum purchase for BYOB. Jazz starts at 6 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

Greater South Loop Association (GSLA) Open Meeting at Tribute. Find out what’s happening in the greater South Loop and meet and mingle with friends and neighbors. The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. with meet-and-greet starting at 9:00 a.m. with refreshments. Tribute is located at 800 S. Michigan Ave. (Essex Hotel).



Air and Water Show August 19 and 20, 2011, is the oldest and largest of its kind. North Avenue Beach is the central location for viewing this annual event that attracts over 2 million fans. This year the headliners are the Thunderbirds, Leap Frogs, and Golden Knights. The show runs from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. both days.
