“Powers” Filming in Chicago

Jason Patric set to star in Powers for FX.

Filming in the South Loop
A new television series is being filmed in Chicago. Powers, starring Jason Patric started filming in the city this month. In fact, crews were shooting in the South Loop at 13th St. between Wabash and State Thursday evening.

New FX Series
Powers is another in the seemingly long line of comic book/graphic novel characters being brought to life on the big and small screens. The new FX drama will focus on homicide detective Christian Walker (Patric) who specializes in cases that involve “powers,” or people with superpowers.

One of Four Filming in Chicago
Powers is one of four television shows currently filming in Chicago. The others are NBC’s The Playboy Club, Showtime’s Shameless, and Starz’s The Boss, starring Kelsey Grammer. If you work or live in the loop, chances are you’ve seen The Boss production crew and possibly even gotten a glimpse at Grammer around town.

The Powers pilot was written by Charles H. Elgee, the head writer for The Shield, Dexter, and The Walking Dead.
